Objective

Enhance pronunciation, fluency, and confidence through structured activities, culminating in a 5-minute podcast.

Week 1: Building the Foundation

Focus: Listening and Pronunciation

1. Pronunciation Clinic (Live Class)
   - Practice challenging sounds such as /th/, /r/, /l/, and vowel distinctions.
   - Participate in interactive exercises, mini-dialogues, and focused pronunciation practice.

2. Active Listening Activity
   - Listen to a short podcast or audiobook that focuses on clear pronunciation. Choose content that suits your level:
     - Beginner: "The English We Speak" (BBC Learning English).
     - Intermediate: "6 Minute English" (BBC).
     - Advanced: "TED Talks Daily".

3. Shadowing Challenge
   - Select a 30-second to 1-minute audio clip from the podcast. Pay attention to pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm.
   - Record yourself imitating the speaker as closely as possible (shadowing).
   - Upload your recording to the group or class for feedback.

4. Minimal Pairs Practice (Pronunciation Drills)
   - Practice minimal pairs to focus on similar sounds that can be challenging (e.g., /l/ vs. /r/, /iː/ vs. /ɪ/).
   - Record sentences that incorporate minimal pairs for additional practice.

Week 2: Production and Fluency

Focus: Speaking and Podcast Creation

1. Podcast Preparation
   - Choose a topic for your 5-minute podcast:
     - My ideal learning routine.
     - A place I love.
     - A hobby or passion.
     - A person I admire.
     - The benefits of learning a second language.

Tip: Divide your podcast into three parts:
   - Introduction (30-60 seconds)
   - Main Content (3-4 minutes)
   - Conclusion (30 seconds)

2. Recording and Feedback
   - Record your first draft of the podcast and upload it to the group.
   - Listen to a peer’s recording and provide constructive feedback (pronunciation, clarity, fluency).

3. Podcast Workshop (Live Class)
   - Practice your podcast with live teacher feedback, focusing on pronunciation, intonation, and fluency.

4. Final Submission
   - Record the final version of your 5-minute podcast and share it with the group.
